An undisputed masterpiece. A classmate recommended it to me in middle school, and it opened the door to shoegaze as a genre. It is a compilation made by many different creators, with each track preserving its own texture of noise and sense of space.

Hearing it now also brings back the seemingly idle summer just after I graduated from high school: sitting in an air-conditioned room and looking out at the blazing sunlight beyond the window.

This collaborative album was released at THE VOC@LOiD M@STER 33 in 2015. During a trip to Tokyo in the summer of 2024, I discovered it through Harumaki Gohan's “Apollo999” and bought the digital edition. Hearing it sometimes takes me back to those hot days spent wandering around Nihonbashi Ningyocho.

“Apollo999” is currently my most-played song. The whole track carries the tension of breaking free from Earth's gravity and charging toward the galaxy and outer space. That is why I listen to it whenever an airplane takes off.

BLUE ENDING NOVA is Harumaki Gohan's first album. The force of rock and Hatsune Miku's ethereal voice build a universe and galaxy within it. This vivid early style had a profound influence on me.

I began learning Japanese because I wanted to understand this album, and because I wanted to create a galaxy like this myself. The visual language of this website, from its homepage palette and structure to its recurring galactic imagery, grew in part from the influence of Ginga Roku.
